New Adventure Book Release Set for May 2008!
What do Sir Richard Branson, ATTA President Shannon Stowell and author-adventurer Don Mankin all have in common? They’re all noted on the cover a new adventure travel book -- set for a May 2008 release – called, “Riding the Hulahula to the Arctic Ocean: A Guide to Extraordinary Adventures for the Seasoned Traveler”. But what exactly is adventure travel? ....While definitions abound, most include physical, cultural, and nature-based travel. "The definition of adventure travel is broader and softer," Shannon Stowell, president of the U.S.-based Adventure Travel Trade Association (ATTA), recently said. "Culture is playing a bigger role. The softer part is growing."

A U.S. buyer recently contacted the ATTA, looking to purchase an adventure tour company.
The company must:
- Be profitable;
- Have a loyal staff with high retention;
- Have good customer satisfaction;
- Provide mid-level activities hiking, biking and cultural activities;
- Perhaps focused more on ‘Boomers’; and
- Have the ability to expand into new market locations and grow revenues.
The company can be located anywhere in the world. The buyer also stated that he is interested in possibly partnering with a current owner if they need help with business management, capital funding or expansion into new markets.
