Letter from the President
Thank you again for being a part of the 2007 Adventure Travel World Summit in Whistler. Our minds were spinning for weeks after the event - it was such an incredible time spent together. My favorite quote this year so far is: “The Summit is the one event every year that I look forward to: it’s brain food”
Your ongoing participation is appreciated and vital, when you attend the Summits, complete the surveys, join ATTA as an active member or just call us and tell us how we can serve the community better.
Thank you also for the great feedback about the 2007 Summit - over 200 of you even filled out the post-event survey! A few nuggets about this year’s event you may want to know:

Earthwatch Founder Rosborough’s “Our Common Mission” Keynote Elicits “Standing O”
“...Focus on your mission and forget the labels which separate and segment your marketplace. Whether travel is for adventure, for heritage, cultural preservation, education, training, conservation, personal enrichment, self renewal or recreation is less important than the impact we make while we’re there. Market distinctions like sustainable tourism, responsible tourism, community-based tourism, ecotourism, and my least favorite ‘voluntourism’ are window dressing if our impacts and motivations are not serving those less fortunate in our path.”

Delegate Survey Feedback
Approximately 200 delegates completed the 2007 Adventure Travel World Summit post-event survey. Here’s a look at what they said:

Here’s a look at where the satisfaction rankings fell – where satisfaction levels were lower, know that the ATTA takes such criticism seriously and has already begun planning efforts to ensure improvements for its 2008 events:
Range: 1-5 (low-high satisfaction)
- The Venue: 4.007

Joe Luchison, Ciclismo Classico
"The ATWS is a unique and incredible event. I don't think there is any other single event that combines such high-power leaders from around the world addressing some of the world's most critical issues. In fact, the group does not merely address issues, but these are the people responsible for making global improvements in areas such as poverty alleviation through sustainable development and environmental conservation. The people attending the event are difference-makers in today's world as they are hands-on in nearly every corner of the planet. The opportunity to engage other leaders during the event are a true inspiration for those who embrace adventure as a means to solve some of the planet's most important issues."
