ATTA Membership Strengthens, Diversifies in 2007

ATTA Membership has nearly doubled in 2007, but the real story here is diversification. Diversification of ATTA’s active members is where the organization’s underpinning strength resides. Diversification matters because it delivers to existing and new members within the global adventure travel community more resources to draw upon, extended strategic networking opportunities, collaboration on matters of world concern – sustainability, conservation, poverty reduction, climate issues and much more.

Geographic diversification is the most visible shift in ATTA Membership. All continents are now represented by ATTA Members with the recent addition of Antarctica Expeditions. Surges in interest from the South America, Middle East, Africa and Asia, combined with significant activity from destination-specific adventure travel and tour operator associations are resulting in the formation of the “hub” concept the ATTA has envisioned for years and believes will result in a dynamic force for our specialized industry.

Diversification also can be seen with the addition of new media partners, destinations, organizations dedicated to sustainability and first-nation causes, outdoor and travel gear manufacturers, and service providers, any one of which might prove to be a valuable resource to your business.

If you’re not already a member, connect immediately with the ATTA’s growing network by visiting http://www.adventuretravel.biz/membership.asp.
