Adventure Travel World Summit Fuels Growth Spurt

ATTA Membership grew notably between July and December 2005, spurred in part by the 2005 Adventure Travel World Summit held in Seattle. Membership has grown in multiple categories, lending credence to the concept that a diverse group of adventure travel related business strengthens our industry, a message echoed at the Summit where attendee feedback specifically referenced the merits of bringing together seemingly disparate entities within our industry. The Summit resulted in numerous partnerships that were previously considered “unlikely,” including partnerships that have developed between product manufacturers and tour operators, publishers and outfitters, and others. The ATTA’s newest cadre of members includes a new round of U.S. and non-U.S.-based tour operators, outdoor and travel gear manufacturers, travel related services, media (print and broadcast), airlines, DMO’s and others.
