Adventure Collection
Adventure Collection marries the excitement of adventure travel with
luxury and personalized service. Formed in 2000, this prestigious
association comprises 11 of the world’s leading independent active
travel companies. Members include: Backroads, Buddy Bombard’s Europe,
Bushtracks Expeditions, Canadian Mountain Holidays, Geographic
Expeditions, Lindblad Expeditions, Micato Safaris, Natural Habitat
Adventures, National Outdoor Leadership School (NOLS), Outdoor Adventure
River Specialists (OARS), and Off the Beaten Path.
Each
member specializes in experiential travel, intimately connecting guests
to the places, wildlife and cultures they visit. Members are
independently owned and operated companies that came together through a
shared commitment to operating trips based on quality, experience,
environmental responsibility and sustainable tourism. All group members
share a deep respect for the ecology and the diversity of the planet and
its inhabitants.
With over 300 years of combined experience, Adventure Collection
members offer the active traveler access to thousands of unforgettable
journeys and terrain that covers the entire globe. In the firm belief
that travel is one of the most mind and heart-expanding activities, and
that the world is still lavishly blessed with unusual travel
opportunities, Adventure Collection offers an extraordinary range of
vacation choices. Among the exciting options are: cycling through French

Each member company is represented in the Adventure Collection’s Board of Directors. From this Board, an Executive Committee is elected annually, serving as the management team. For 2006, the Executive Committee of the Adventure Collection comprises, Tom Hale (Backroads) as Chairman, Dennis Pinto (Micato Safaris) as Vice-Chairman, Jim Sano (Geographic Expeditions) as Treasurer, and Marty Von Neudegg (Canadian Mountain Holdays) as Secretary. Sven Lindblad (Linblad Expeditions), the past Chairman, joins the Executive Committee in an ex-officio position. The Executive Director of the Association, Larry Mogelonsky, serves as day-to-day manager of the organization.
The Adventure Collection provides its member companies with both marketing and operational support. Members can take advantage of collective cost savings through joint purchasing power. Adventure Collection is a member of the prestigious Luxury Alliance, an organization dedicated to the absolute finest in global travel. Other Luxury Alliance members include Leading Hotels of the World, Relais & Chateaux and the Orient Express. Combined Internet, direct marketing, as well as public relations activities further deliver lead-generating opportunities for the membership.
