Pura Vida!  Pura Vida, literally translated means "Pure Life" but means contextually something approximate to "Full of Life" "Purified life", "This is living!", "Going great", or "Cool!" Costa Ricans use the phrase to express something akin to a philosophy of strong community, perseverance, good spirits, and enjoying life slowly and celebrating good fortune of magnitudes small and large alike.- Wikipedia.com

Pure Life ImageWhen we started Pure Life Expeditions, it was for no other reason than to bring our closest friends and family on an adventure that would change their lives. Our philosophy on adventure travel is not to jump on a tourist bus and stand in line at the common, easily accessible areas of the world. We visit parts of Costa Rica that many locals haven't even heard of. We raft parts of rivers that are pristine in their untouched beauty. We visit with locals who have no pretense, only hearts of gold and open arms. The purpose of our trips isn't to entertain for a brief moment, but to infuse adventure in a soul.

Pure Life Expeditions is based solely in Costa Rica.  We specialize in providing unique adventure tours to those hoping to get off the beaten path and experience the true “Pura Vida”.  Our all-inclusive 10 day tour includes: a cultural immersion home-stay, rafting, waterfall rappelling, backpacking, horseback riding, a rainforest tree climb, a traditional sweat lodge experience, surf lessons, a zip-line tour, beach time, and even a service project if our clients are interested.  There are many opportunities for our clients to experience something for the first time at our cultural immersion home-stays such as milking a cow, making sugar from raw sugar cane, playing soccer with the local kids or even learning to cook corn tortillas from scratch on a wood burning stove.  Our tours attract the active adventurer, however, we can accommodate various ages and fitness levels and, at times, get clients who want to experience our tour without the adventure activities. Our all-inclusive adventures are the perfect mix of adventure and total relaxation!  We are currently implementing 4 day in-country tours for people who want the Pure Life Expeditions experience but want to do the rest of their vacation on their own.  We will also be running daily rafting tours out of the beach town of Dominical by the end of 2007.

We hope to be able to work with other members in ATTA and draw from the experience and knowledge that similar companies have gained from years of experience in the industry.  We also hope that our membership will create more credibility for our company and give our clients confidence that they are purchasing a quality product.
