ADVANCE 07 SUMMIT ALERT FOR ADVENTURETRAVELNEWS™ SUBSCRIBERS:

2007 Adventure Travel World Summit Accommodation Partners
to be Announced

ATTA President Shannon Stowell and Director Chris Doyle joined Whistler Tourism’s Manager of Conference Sales Paula Mendes January 28-31, 2007, in Whistler, British Columbia, Canada, for a more in-depth site visit.  This, the second of the ATTA’s pre-Summit visits, included site inspections of numerous potential hotel partners – in the coming weeks, special rates extended to ATTA Summit delegates will be announced and posted at www.adventuretravelworldsummit.com.

Whister’s favorable reception to the adventure travel community and its fall conference continued with a second meeting with Report Municipality Mayor Ken Melamed, who continues to champion progressive sustainability initiatives for this mountain resort.  Additional meetings between the ATTA and local tour operators providing the 2007 ATWS day of adventure activities resulted in new friendships and yielded a host of new adventure concepts of this year’s Summit delegates.  Venues for entertainment, special activities, private networking locations and potential industry adjacency meetings also were evaluated.

Special Summit Opportunities for Spouses & Families

For the October 4-6, 2007, Adventure Travel World Summit, the ATTA plans to provide special opportunities for Delegates’ spouses, families and yes, you guessed it, even pets.  With Whistler being such an extraordinary mountain environment offering a multitude of adventure opportunities, Summit organizers encourage Delegates to extend their stays prior to or after the actual conference dates and to consider this gathering a “working holiday.”  Early work with Tourism Whistler and the community at large has resulted in several creative concepts that will serve to welcome additional guests.
