Salta Argentina

Unite. Protect. Lead.

More than 800 delegates from 54 countries gathered at the 14th annual Adventure Travel World Summit (ATWS) in Salta, Argentina from October 16th to the 19th. The theme, Unite. Protect. Lead. was ever present. Those working in the adventure travel trade industry have always been leaders, charting the course for the tourism industry at large. Fiercely independent as individuals, they recognize their strength and ability to make proactive, positive changes is even stronger when they come together — similar to the gauchos of Salta, Argentina, who successfully defended the country’s northern border in its fight for independence.

Delegates participated in three full days of inspiring keynote speakers, information-packed educational sessions, immersive experiences, formal meetings, and casual networking opportunities — as well as Pre-Summit Adventures, a Day of Adventure, and an additional Adventure Women Leadership Studio — making this one of the Adventure Travel Trade Association’s (ATTA) most action-packed and forward-thinking annual events yet.

The adventure revolution continues in Salta, Argentina for the Adventure Travel World Summit in 2017! The ATTA will select speakers and topics that exemplify the theme’s spirit, which was inspired by the gauchos of Salta. These independent gauchos united a community with shared values and protected a country they cared for, one renowned for some of the world’s highest biodiversity.

We invite you to the fourteenth annual Adventure Travel World Summit to discover the diversity of Argentina: the deserts of the Puna; the verdant jungles of Iguazú; the multicolored mountains of Salta; Patagonia and the Andes; the wine routes; and the rich culture and folklore found throughout the country.
