
Everett Potter has written a weekly, nationally syndicated column
that has been distributed by The New York Times Syndicate since
1988. He is also a weekly columnist for USA Weekend magazine as of
February, 2004.
He is a contributing editor for Ski and a monthly columnist for
Diversion. Potter is a regular contributor to Endless Vacation, Conde
Nast Traveller UK, Outside, Forbes FYI and Bride's.
His writing has appeared in a variety of other publications,
including The Wall Street Journal, National Geographic Adventure, Food &
Wine, Aspen Magazine, Metropolitan Home, Delta Sky and Town & Country.
From 1993 to 1997, he was a founding contributing editor to
SmartMoney: The Wall Street Journal Magazine of Personal Business.
Potter has made guest appearances on NBC's Today Show as well as on
CNN, CNN-FN, CNBC, CBS, Fox, Bloomberg Radio and NPR's All Thing
Considered.
The Society of American Travel Writers awarded Potter the Lowell
Thomas Gold Award in 1993, 1994, 1995 and the Bronze Award in 1998 for
his travel journalism.
He is the author of The Best of Brazil (Crown, 1989) and Cave
Pictures (Kaldewey, 1981).
His expertise in the travel field has made Potter a sought after
consultant for a variety of companies and organizations, including
American Express, Butterfield & Robinson, Four Seasons Hotels & Resorts
and the Greater Vancouver Convention and Visitors Bureau.
A member of the Society of American Travel Writers and the National
Writers Union, Potter is a member and former president of New York
Travel Writers.
Potter holds a BA in English Literature from Boston University and an
MA in English Literature from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. He
lives in Pelham, New York.
