Costa Rican FAM Opportunities – For Agents and/or Journalists Interested in Participating or Observing Adventure Racing, Climbing Peak Kamuk, Jungle Canoeing to the Arenal Volcano

Among several of the emerging trends witnessed in recent years is the rise of adventure travel tours linked to any one of a number of competitive pursuits such as human-powered multi-sport races, adventure racing, mountain biking, marathon races and orienteering. Whether the client chooses to race or spectate, the notion of connecting with such events in exotic locales seems to be gaining ground.

One relative newcomer entering the fray is Costa Rica’s Euforia Expeditions (www.euforiaexpeditions.com). Euforia is host to the April 2006 Solo Adventure Race, Between 2 Continents, Between 2 Oceans (B2C – B2O), an adventure race designed for elite adventure racers from around the world. A 250+ Km nonstop expedition with duration of 65+ hours to the finish line which will go through most the 12 microclimates located in Costa Rica. Each participant of B2C – B2O will partake in one of the most demanding races ever to take place in the tropics.

Euforia provides for those adventurers who have never had the opportunity to witness such impressive events an 8 day package which includes activities such as kayak, trekking, canopy tours (zip lines) and many other activities alongside the actual race route. Euforia is offering a limited number of FAMs positions for the April 2006 race to qualified specialty adventure travel agents and journalists interest in joining the trip to encounter face to face the competitors during some of the most challenging and crucial moments of the race. This is a unique opportunity for families and adventure travelers to get involved with adventure racing, whether as observers or offering volunteer assistance to races during the race.

Separately, Euforia is also offering two other FAMs opportunities scheduled for the first half of 2006: One, is a 9-day summit attempt to Peak Kamuk, Costa Rica’s second highest peak, which stands amid one of Latin America’s most dense and submerged jungles, also sacred land for several indigenous groups that for thousands of years have been part of this ancient forest. The other is a family friendly (youth must be 14 years or older) Paddle Costa Rica 10-day adventure-filled paddling (canoes) expedition in 7 different rivers to visit the world renowned hot springs at the base of one of the world’s most impressive volcanos, Arenal. Again, qualified industry representatives interested in selling Costa Rica adventures to their clients and/or journalists are invited to inquire.
