Respected Industry Influencers Lend Support to 2005 Adventure Travel World Summit
In the past several weeks, ATTA Members have voiced their enthusiast support for the October 16-18, 2005, Adventure Travel World Summit presented by the Adventure Travel Trade Association.
Here’s what a growing number of industry influencers actively engage in growth initiatives for the adventure travel industry have said in anticipation of the fall Summit:
“This Summit provides adventure travel operators with an opportunity to get a grip on some of the critical facets that will shape tomorrow’s business environment. One contact or one productive seminar . . . That’s all it takes to payout the expense!”
Larry L. Mogelonsky, Executive Director, Adventure Collection (www.adventurecollection.com)
“This really looks like a GREAT program! In fact, I will say this is the most professional, forward thinking program I have EVER seen for a travel industry conference. Totally cutting edge -- as it should be!!”
Helen Nodland, CTC, Strategic Development Director, North America explora (www.explora.com)
“The Adventure Travel World Summit is a long overdue opportunity. The current disconnect among adventure tour operators, especially when compared to other sectors, is a real barrier for our industry in attempting to expand our share of the larger general travel market. In focusing our energies and sharing experiences,
Kurt Kutay (founding Director and President of Wildland Adventures, Inc., and the non-profit Travelers Conservation Trust) and I are looking forward to enhancing this industry’s ability to reach and better serve the huge potential market that we know is out there.”
Richard Edwards- VP Marketing, Wildland Adventures (www.wildland.com)
"The ATTA is committed to broaden the reach and appeal of active exploration of our world. Reaching new and aspiring participants, especially the next generation, is critical to the health of our industry. Each of us, the individual companies that make up the industry, must play a role in developing that future. I'm very excited about this first of its kind conference and the opportunity to begin developing a comprehensive strategy for industry growth. I'm sending my entire management team."
John Sheppard- General Manager, REI Adventures (www.reiadventures.com)
“Given the impressive line up of stimulating and knowledgeable speakers, I believe the Adventure Travel World Summit in Seattle will be the breakthrough in bringing the adventure industry to a higher level of understanding and proactive thinking.”
Kathryn Hayes, Tourism Ireland (www.tourismireland.com)
“I personally am excited about this ‘first of its kind’ conference. It will be a meeting of the industry’s ‘who’s who’ and will give us all a chance to think about our respective businesses, with whom and how we can work together, in this new age of Adventure Travel.”
Sarah Fazendin, Kenya Tourist Board (www.magicalkenya.com)
"The Adventure Travel World Summit brings together the major players in the adventure travel industry to learn from and be inspired by industry experts while tackling tough issues and making connections with others. I encourage any and all leaders in the adventure travel space to be at this important event."
Brian T. Mullis, President of Sustainable Travel International (www.sustainabletravelinternational.org)
“Our tourism segment needs a specialized forum where representatives from many countries can get together periodically to learn from each other, form alliances, pool resources to promote adventure travel, obtain more support from local governments, and create responsible markets. The ATTA’s Adventure Travel World Summit fills this need.”
Wendy Hesketh, President AMTAVE (www.amtave.org)
The Adventure Travel Trade Associations encourages the many others who’ve registered to attend the Adventure Travel World Summit (www.adventuretravelworldsummit.com) to serve as “ambassadors” to rally others in the industry to register for the Summit. Participants in the Summit will play an integral role into the shaping the future, collective direction of the adventure travel industry. Thank you for lending your support!
