Description

With data from nearly 300 tour companies, the ATTA is releasing its first Bicycle Tourism Survey for the adventure travel industry. The study includes data from companies offering only cycling activities and companies for which cycling is just one of many activities offered.

Key findings from the study include:

  • 59% of respondents say their profit outlook for 2014 is up from 2013
  • Europe, Asia and North America are the leading destinations where cycling trips are sold
  • 35% of the time companies are creating custom itineraries for their clients

This report provides the additional insights into the adventure cycling vertical: statistics on Average Cycling Trip Length and Price, Types of Cycling Activities, Difficulty of Trip, Bike Brands and Types Used, Training Requirements for Guides and Cycling Customer Demographics.
