Ena is a Mexican, and holds a Bachelors Degree in Tourism with a specialization in nature tourism. She has 15 years of experience in adventure tourism and is the owner of a tour operator company recognized for its high quality and safety standards. Ena has trained students from several universities in Mexico and as a consultant, she has provided expert advice to tourism companies. She has conducted studies on models of risk management in Mexico, Costa Rica and Brazil, and has a strong grasp towards Human Resource Training and Development which is key to operational success in a tourism business.
Ena has been a leader and pioneer in the creation of adventure tourism companies managed by women in Mexico. Currently, her tour operator company is the largest and most successful in the State of San Luis Potosi, setting high safety and quality standards.
She is the current Vice President of AMTAVE (Mexican Association of Adventure Travel and Ecotourism), at the same time pursuing her Masters degree in sustainable tourism management.
Her company has been awarded several quality recognitions such as “the recognition of diversification of Mexican tourism product in the category of nature tourism”, which is the highest recognition awarded by the Ministry of Tourism of Mexico and the Mexico’s Tourist Promotion Council. The company has also been awarded “the certificate of Excellence” by Trip Advisor in services yearly for past 3 years.
Her company is also the first Mexican company certified by the International Rafting Federation (IRF), for having all the guides evaluated by international standards, is ranked amongst the TOP 10 adventure tour operators in Mexico on the basis of Social Media Engagement.
Ena consults for the Federal government and the Ministry of Tourism programs MODERNIZA (DISTINTIVO M) and DISTINTIVO Q (Quality in tourism services). She is also an Instructor of the International Federation of Rafting and works at the only center in Mexico authorized to train and / or assess rafting guides. She has traveled the around the country providing inspirational talks to young entrepreneurs, primarily to students studying tourism.
