Melody Wren

Country: Canada

Media Outlets: Canadian Jewish News, Active Over 50, Kitchener Waterloo Record, Canadian Yachting Magazine

Travel stories are meant to encourage and inspire others to do the same. My adventure travels have broadened my reach and welcomed me to grow as a person and a writer, while meeting challenges with fewer self-imposed limits on every adventure. I did not begin full of courage but enormous curiosity – experiential travel has helped me consider and conquer fears – empowering to a previously nervous traveler. Life is now less about fear, more about feeling and advancing mentally and physically. Soon I will be saying feel the fear and do it anyway! Possibilities are unlimited. I consider my age (over 60) a gift in my travels. I bring wisdom and experience and a major ‘if not now, when’ attitude with heavy lashings of humor, which is required in any kind of travel. I learned how to paddleboard in Hawaii, snorkeled through the Galapagos islands, glacier trekked in the Northwest Passage and the Arctic, danced around a fire in Africa, learned how to make the perfect tiramisu in Florence, Italy, kayaked amongst spawning salmon in Ontario, snow-shoed in Colorado, sailed in the British Virgin Islands … and so much more. I have interviewed Deepak Chopra, Richard Branson, and Michael Statlander, Colin and Justin and many others. Life is evolving into something completely unexpected. Success is doing more and gaining resilience. What’s next? Surprise me? I have been published in Canadian Yachting Magazine, Canadian Jewish News, The Toronto Star, Kitchener Waterloo Record, Caribbean Beat Magazine, Waypoints Global, Active Over 50, Inspired Seniors, Family Fun Canada to mention a few.
