The main event platform that we’re using is called Hopin (www.hopin.to). You will receive a unique link to create an account on Hopin to register for the event. Hopin is a virtual venue with multiple interactive areas to help you connect and engage. As an attendee, you’ll be able to move in and out of rooms just like an in-person event and enjoy the content and connections throughout. The Hopin platform includes a main stage area, breakout sessions, live video and text based chat functions, a marketplace feature to showcase organizations and opportunities, as well as connection and networking functions.
Your Hopin Profile
Your profile will let others know about who you are, your company and who you are looking to meet with. The more complete and robust you make it, the easier it will be for others to find you. You can access your profile by clicking the Profile tab located on the Hopin homepage.
Tips on updating your profile:
Be sure to add a profile picture – it’s great to be able to see the potential partners when requesting and confirming meetings.
Headline – please add company name, title (roll) and email
Share about yourself in the bio
This section is really for you to describe why you are attending this event. If it’s helpful – think of one sentence that best describes what you’d like to walk away with from the event. It can be difficult to read paragraph after paragraph of information on many people – so keeping it clear and concise is always best.
Your email address – think of this information as your digital business card and including your email will be a way for someone to reach out and connect with you after the event.
Social Links – Please include your social media links and company website
Add the event to your calendar
After you register for the event please make sure to add this event to your calendar.
By adding this event to your calendar it will show up in your time zone as the correct time.
This event will have three different options to connect with others!
Connecting Individually or in Small Groups: During the event there will be a “chat/poll/people” tab on the right hand column. Click on ‘People’ to see a list of attendees that you might consider requesting a meeting with. You may ask to connect with someone at any time.
Networking: This dedicated networking session is for all delegates and takes a randomized and speed-dating approach to provide traditional one-on-one meetings in our virtual setting. Tour operators, travel advisors, media, destination representatives, and industry professionals working in all other capacities within adventure travel will have the opportunity to connect with each other during the pre-defined block of time on the agenda. Creative partnerships come from creative thinkers and needn’t fit a predefined formula: listen to a new product idea, share common challenges and solutions with colleagues, find a unique take on your company’s story and share it — the opportunities are only limited by the extent of your imagination.
How does it work?
After a brief introduction with live instructions, you’ll be put into a randomized rotation of individual meetings. There are no pre-scheduled meetings during the virtual networking. You will be randomly paired up to meet one-on-one with a fellow delegate, and you’ll have 4 minutes to speak with webcams and microphones on. Give your pitch! Share a funny story! Talk about what has inspired you so far or what you’ve learned that will stick with you after this event.
Hopin is easy to use, and runs straight out of your web browser. While Hopin does work on mobile devices, for the best experience we strongly recommend using your computer.
Upload the latest version of Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox.
Hopin works best with Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox. Do not use Internet Explorer or Edge. We also recommend closing all other browser tabs and windows while in the event.

Chat, Polls and People tabs
In all sections of the Hopin platform there are three tabs on your right-hand side. Look for the red dot ( • ) on each respective tab. This indicates new activity within the chat, a new poll, or when you have a new direct message.
Allows you to send messages visible to all participants of the event. In the sessions and booths you can switch to the chat visible only in the Session or Booth you are participating in. The Chat tab is also where you will see occasional important messages from the organizers and popping up.
We will be asking you for your feedback during the event using live polls.
Lists all participants that have joined the event. You can send a direct message to any participant by clicking on their name.
There are multiple chat channels on the Hopin platform. Each one serves a different purpose.
Event chat — global event chat where all participants can post messages.
Stage/Plenary chat — chat with a Stage-related discussion all attendees have access to.
Session chat — each session in Sessions has dedicated chat rooms. Attendees who are off-camera can chat to interact with people on camera and vice-versa.
Expo Booth chat — like Sessions, each booth has its own chat for group discussions and interaction.
Meeting chat — in Networking, a private 1:1 chat channel is available to the participants.
Direct messages — anyone can send messages to an individual at an event on Hopin via DMs in the People tab. To send a DM, find the person you wish to chat with in the People tab, click their profile photo, and send a direct message to them.
How can I interact with the speakers in the Stage section?
You can always ask a question in the event chat on your right-hand side. The speakers might not have the time to answer all questions so you can always try to catch them off-stage by sending them a direct message. (Tip: filter speakers under the “People” tab on the right side panel)
