Thank you for your interest in applying for a media badge (press pass) for this ATTA event. If your application is accepted, you will be able to purchase registration at the discounted media rate of $150.
Who should apply:
The ATTA is interested in a variety of media who specialize in adventure tourism or the outdoor industry, including:
Magazine or Newspaper Staff Writers & Editors — especially from adventure travel, outdoor activity or environmental/sustainability publications (print or online editions)
Online Publication Writers & Editors — especially from adventure travel, outdoor activity or environmental/sustainability publications
Freelance Journalists — with a proven record of placing articles in adventure travel, outdoor activity or environmental/sustainability publications (in print or online)
Professional (Career) Bloggers — with evidence of regular, current writing related to adventure travel, outdoor activity or environmental/sustainability issues
Photographers / Videographers — editorial in nature who regularly document or film content related to the adventure travel or outdoor industry
Broadcast Journalists — whose content is broadcast on TV, radio or online and is related to the adventure travel or outdoor industry
Influencers — with a large, dedicated following of consumers of adventure travel or outdoor related content
All media badge holders (media delegates) to ATTA events are expected to be “working media,” meaning no matter what your outlet you should be actively looking for ways to cover the adventure travel industry, ATTA members and the destination where the event takes place. We do not always require commission or assignments in order for your application to be accepted (this requirement can vary from event to event), but we will expect resulting publications. We track all media results from our events.
All media delegates are required to attend media-specific sessions during the event (ie. MediaConnect, MediaExchange, MediaMeetUp, etc)
If you are hosted on a pre- or post-event adventure (FAM), you will be expected to publish something about your experience
Hosted Media Delegates
For each event the ATTA, together with the destination host, invites a number of media delegates to be fully hosted (registration fee as well as airfare and accommodation will be paid for by the ATTA and the destination host). The number of hosted delegates as well as the mix of home countries and types and titles of outlets changes for each event.
In addition to the expectations for all media delegates outlined above, hosted media delegates will be expected to be active on social media during the event and any related FAM trips, using their influence to spread the word about the ATTA and its members, the adventure travel industry and the host destination. Event hashtags will be sent ahead of the event and you are expected to use the proper tags to make event publicity tracking possible.
