Thank you for your interest in participating in AdventureWeek Panama as an official media delegate. Together with our destination hosts, we are seeking a group of five journalists with substantial consumer reach and a proven track record for story placement, representing a variety of countries (more specific details below). This is a fully-hosted trip for the selected media, including activities, accommodations, economy round-trip air, airport transfers, and meals during the trip (with some incidental costs in transit to the destination). Applications will be reviewed by our hosts in February with final approvals completed by the end of March 2018.
Who should apply:
The ATTA and Panama are interested in freelance adventure travel journalists, staff writers, editors and possibly bloggers and influencers who specialize in adventure and sustainable travel stories that reach consumer audiences through newspaper, magazine, or digital publications in the United States, Canada, Spain, Germany, and China. Publishers, advertising sales representatives, personal or hobby bloggers, PR agency representatives, content developers, video producers, and marketing agencies do not qualify as media.
Role and expectations if you are selected:
You will be participating as “working media,” experiencing adventures and researching multiple stories for future publications. If you are accepted to attend, we will expect resulting publications, and we track all media results from our events. You will be expected to to be active on social media before, during, and after the trip (as internet is available) using your influence to spread the word about the adventure travel and the hosts’ destination and products. Event hashtags will be sent ahead of the event and you are expected to use the proper tags to make event publicity tracking possible.
About the selection process:
There are only five spots available for this trip.
Final selections will be made from the pool of applications received.
Applications will be considered and reviewed with the destination partner.
A cross-set of criteria is used in the evaluation process to result in a final group of delegates representing the specific countries listed above.
Due to the limited number of spots, not all applications will be selected.
Applications will be reviewed by our hosts in February with final approvals completed by the end of March 2018.
