Join Visit Anchorage for a full day of Alaska animal encounters! The tour begins in the foothills of the Chugach Mountains with a visit to the boreal-forested Alaska Zoo. Go behind the scenes with an Alaska Zoo caretaker to meet Amur tigers and an Alaskan wolf pack.
Next, head south to Potter Marsh, at the southern end of the Anchorage Coastal Wildlife Refuge. Walk the wooden boardwalks with Audubon Alaska to learn about the migratory birds and other wildlife that call this area home. Continue on to the Portage Valley for a scenic lunch stop before making your way to the Alaska Wildlife Conservation Center (AWCC).
A stop at the AWCC will get you up-close with some of Alaska’s most iconic mammals in a their natural setting. Moose, bear, musk ox, wood bison, caribou and more! Tour includes transportation, lunch, snacks and a guide.
Trip departs Dena’ina Convention Center at 9:30 a.m. with an approximate return time of 6:00 p.m.
