Your Day of Adventure begins with a beautiful 2.5 hour drive from Anchorage to Cooper Landing along the Turnagain Arm and into the mountains of the Kenai Peninsula. Your destination is the sparkling, turquoise waters of Skilak Lake located in the Kenai National Wildlife Refuge. This is where the real adventure begins!
Access the goods far from the roads and crowds on our Kenai Peninsula Boat Hike! We use boats to access hiking terrain not accessible by car. This gets us far off the beaten path into awesome terrain only accessible by boat or plane. This is the perfect way for active travelers to discover the dynamic wilderness on the Kenai Peninsula that most never get to see.
Explore the Alaskan wilderness on an exhilarating hike in the backcountry of the Kenai Peninsula. Hike through lush vegetation along forested trails while your KBA guide tells you about the local history and wildlife of the area. Hike above the treeline for spectacular views of the Kenai Mountains and the Alaska Range. Enjoy a picnic lunch while gazing upon the beautiful scenery all around you.
Photographic opportunities abound – from majestic mountain vistas to delicate wildflowers and berries. Wilderness hiking doesn’t get any better than this!
*The boating portion of the trip is subject to favorable weather conditions due to operating watercraft on a large glacial lake. If the weather doesn’t permit safe travel by boat, we will hike trails in the area.
