The Alaska Native Heritage Center welcomes Native Alaskan, Indigenous and other tourism operators, developers and leadership from around the world to join an Indigenous Tourism Gathering where we will welcome all to Alaska, share information and have a round circle discussion on Indigenous tourism priorities. This event will take place on the morning of Tuesday, September 20th.
Following on the heels of this gathering, there will be a panel discussion from 2:00 to 3:30 PM on the topic of Developing Partnerships with Indigenous Operators & Communities at the Dena’ina Civic & Convention Center as part of the Adventure Tourism World Summit with tourism professionals, businesses, destinations and media from around the world. Both gatherings are open to all involved or interested in Native Alaskan and other Indigenous Tourism. This includes, but is not limited to, those attending the Adventure Travel World Summit (ATWS).
Free registration is required for the morning gathering and the 2pm ATWS session. The morning gathering is limited to 100 attendees.
Free registration is also required for an optional 4:30 – 5:30pm workshop on “Securing Financial Partnerships for your Indigenous Tourism Project” with Rick MacLeod Farley of MacLeod Farley & Associates, which will be delivered primarily for interested Native Alaskans and other Indigenous tourism community members who are developing community or private tourism businesses.
