Until recently Nicky Fitzgerald spent the past 15 years as the Sales and Marketing Director of from &Beyond (formerly Conservation Corporation Africa, better known as CC Africa), one of Africa’s leading luxury safari ecotourism companies deeply committed to delivering guest delight and its core ethic of “Care of the Land, Care of the Wildlife, Care of the People.”

Nicky was responsible for the global marketing and branding of &Beyond, as well as all lodge development and guest experiences. The company had only three lodges when she joined it as Director of Operations in 1994. Now it has more than 45 exclusive safari camps and lodges in breathtaking wilderness locations across Africa and more recently India, too. &Beyond is the recipient of numerous prestigious ecotourism awards, including recognition as global winner of the British Airways Tourism for Tomorrow Award.

For her work, Nicky was recognised as Relais & Chateaux Woman of the Year in 2005 and in 2006 was recognised by Travel + Leisure magazine as one of the industry’s 35 Innovators. Nicky served as a judge for the World Tourism Council ‘Tourism for Tomorrow’ awards in 2007 and 2008 and for Travel + Leisure magazine’s Global Vision Awards in 2008 and in 2009 was a board member for Forbes Traveler 400. Nicky currently serves on the Leadership Council of The Bodhi Tree Foundation based in New York.

Prior to joining CC Africa in 1994, Nicky – along with her husband Steve, former CEO of &Beyond – operated Halcyon Hotels, a hotel and restaurant group they founded in 1983. Besides its three hotels, the group eventually included five restaurants in the Cape region of South Africa – with Blues restaurant and The Bay Hotel as the flagships. Nicky and Steve are currently exploring opportunities of launching a luxury adventure travel brand in Africa and Latin America.
