Alicia Johnson

Digital Editor / Lonely Planet

Traditional Media

Country: United States

Media Outlets: Lonely Planet

Alicia Johnson is a New York girl living it up in Nashville. She joined Lonely Planet in 2018 where she split her time between the popular book product and the website. Her area of focus was the Caribbean and Central America. Being part of the Lonely Planet family has allowed Alicia to visit the Copan Ruins in Honduras, hike to the boiling lake in Dominica and kayak along the Pearl Islands in Panama. In 2019, her role shifted and she became a digital editor. Lonely Planet's expanded coverage of travel-related news and topics means her area of focus has grown, and she assigns, edits and writes articles that cover everything from top vegan restaurants in New York City to why nude cruises are a growing travel trend. Before Lonely Planet, Alicia worked in newspapers as a sports writer and later sports editor.
